Account Sales Director (Energy / Utilities / Renewables)
Role description
Reporting to the Business Development Director, this role leads sales and marketing activities, primarily in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and life sciences sectors across North America, with secondary responsibility for food and beverage. You will manage a sales budget aligned with the regional strategy while scaling the existing client portfolio and pursuing new, large industrial manufacturing accounts.
Key responsibilities
Commercial and financial success
- Ensure North American business milestones and long-term financial sustainability
- Deliver business plans, budgets and forecasts that meet or exceed sales targets
- Work with potential and existing clients to develop new business opportunities
- Promote brand awareness and target pharmaceutical, medical devices and life sciences clients
- Forecast sales and cash flows, protecting revenue streams
Business planning
- Develop and execute North American business strategies that support long-term sustainability
- Carry out commercial administrative tasks and monitor market and competitor activity
- Support operational expansion with optimal resource allocation
- Implement strategic plans with budgets that meet or exceed goals
Qualifications and requirements
Education
- Bachelor degree in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, civil or similar) or equivalent
Professional experience
- A minimum of five years' leadership or management experience as an Account Director, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or Commercial Manager, scaling consultancy companies
- Experience with large pharmaceutical, medical devices and life sciences companies
- A multi-service consultancy background
- Significant business development experience in tendering, negotiating and closing
